Imran Khan gets interim bail till Oct 31 in prohibited funding case

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Imran Khan has been given an interim bail till October 31 by a special court here in a case pertaining to prohibited foreign funding. Khan and other leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have been booked by the Federal Intelligence Agency (FIA) in relation with the case.

Khan was directed to submit a surety bond worth Rs100,000 after Special Judge Raja Asif Mehmood heard the petition. Khan has lashed out at the FIA and the Pakistan Democratic Movement-led federal government, accusing them of trying to frame fabricated cases against him.

Khan has been at the centre of court cases at the pretext of one or the other issue ever since he was removed from the premiership through a vote of no confidence in April earlier this year.
