Imran granted protective bail till Oct 18 in false affidavits case

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan has been granted a protective bail till October 18 by the Islamabad High Court here in fake affidavits case, registered against him and other party leaders of the PTI, by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

Khan and other party leaders of the PTI have been accused of submitting fake affidavits to the Election Commission of Pakistan, in relation with the proscribed foreign funding. Khan deposited surety bonds worth Rs5,000 to secure the protective bail. He was summoned earlier in the day by the IHC chief justice Athar Minallah while hearing the plea.

The first information report (FIR) against Khan and the PTI leaders was registered by the FIA on October 6. It is pertinent to mention here that Khan has recently been acquitted by the IHC in the court contempt case.
