ISLAMABAD: On Tuesday, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted the temperature to remain high throughout the week. The rise in temperature is due to the increase in upper atmospheric pressure.
According to the forecast, the temperature will increase by 9-10 degrees Celsius in Kashmir, South Punjab, the Upper part of Sindh, and Northern Balochistan.
Meanwhile, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Central Punjab, Upper areas of Punjab, the federal capital, South Balochistan, and lower parts of Sindh will experience a 7-8 degrees hike in temperature. North Balochistan, Upper areas of Sindh, and South Punjab will also encounter gusty winds. All authorities concerned are directed to remain high alert.
The hot weather will affect orchards, crops and vegetable fields. The Met Department has urged farmers to maintain water flow for crops and has advised them to harvest wheat earlier in Punjab and Sindh.
