KARACHI: The Green Line Bus Rapit Transit project was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Imran Khan here on Friday. Governor Sindh Imran Ismail and Federal Planning Minister Asad Umar were also present on the occasion.

The prime minister was briefed about the ticketing system on his visit to a bus station and also checked the infrastructure. Extending felicitations to Umar and Sindh Infrastructure Development Company Limited (SIDCL) on the completion of the project, the premier said that it was made possible because of their utter determination.

Speaking at the occasion, the prime minister said that modern cities needed modern means of transport.

The people of Karachi have longed for a modern transport system for a long time. The worsening situation of the existing public transport means that the citizens are either compelled to travel in worn and torn buses or dole out large sums of money for commute while using the ride-hailing services.
