ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry claimed on Tuesday while addressing a press conference after federal cabinet meeting here that the convicted former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who remains in self exile in London, will be brought back to Pakistan by the government.
His remarks come after the former National Assembly speaker Ayaz Sadiq had announced that he would be bringing back Sharif from London. Chaudhry asserted that Sharif would never return to the country voluntarily and claimed that the government was finalising the agreement of Sharif’s return to Pakistan with the UK government.
He also stated that the opposition would never succeed in ousting the government as it lacked the political leadership to do so. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had announced a ‘decisive movement’ against the government at the occasion of former assassinated prime minister Benazir Bhutto’s 14th death anniversary.
