The German company, Innovative Techno Plus, has shown interest in the project of generating electricity from garbage in Lahore. The project has received a green signal from the Punjab Cabinet.
According to the details, the German company will invest one billion euros in this project. A memorandum of understanding has been signed between LWMC and the German company to commence the project.
Under the initiative, the waste collected at Mehmood Boti and Lakho Der would be utilised to generate electric power. Chief Minister Punjab Pervez Elahi has directed the Industries department, Energy sector and Municipalities to start working on the implementation plan.
