Four critical, 13 injured in blast in Balochistan

QUETTA: Station House Officer (SHO) Mohammad Qasim said on Tuesday that a blast in the Kharan district of the largest province of Pakistan, Balochistan, has injured 13 people, of which four are in critical condition.

He told that patients who were critically injured in the blast have been taken to Quetta whereas the rest with minor injuries have been shifted to the District Headquarter Hospital.

Explaining how the blast took place, he said that a bomb was fitted in a motorbike which exploded a few seconds after a security forces’ vehicle moved through the area. The Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo condemned the incident and expressed deep sorrow for the people who suffered injuries in the blast.

He blamed ‘terrorists’ for the blast in a statement and said that the people of Balochistan would continue to stand with security forces.

“Our courage will not be dampened by the cowardly activities of terrorists. The people of the province are standing with security forces to end the chaos caused by terrorism.”

He has also directed the authorities to make sure that the best treatment facilities are accorded to the injured people.
