Flour price increases by Rs8 per kg, CM Punjab blames government for ill-provision of wheat

Lahore: Flour mill owners in Lahore have jacked up the per kg price of flour by Rs8. After the shocking increment, the new price of flour would be Rs116 per kg. The Flour Mills Association justified the increment by stating that the price of wheat has hiked in the open market.

On Tuesday, Chief Minister Punjab Pervaiz Elahi alleged the federal government for biased behaviour towards the government of Punjab regarding the matter of wheat provision. He also gave a call for an official protest against the ill-provision of wheat.

Meanwhile, the provincial food department said to take strict action against the smuggling of flour. Police contingents have been deployed on the routes of Peshawar and Sadiqabad to halt the illegal movement of commodities.
