FIR launched against civic agencies’ officials and Nasla Tower Builders

KARACHI: After the orders from the apex court, the Karachi police has registered a first information report (FIR) against the Nasla Tower builders. Police have also filed a case against the civic departments and entities involved in the matter.

Supreme Court had ordered the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) and police to register cases against officials of Sindhi Muslim Cooperative Housing Society, Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), along with the owners of the Nasla Tower.

The court observed violation of the law from the officials of the departments concerned on approving the construction. The bench ordered inquires under the Prevention of Corruption Act and Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

An FIR will also be launched against the SBCA authorities involved. The court has directed the DIG-East and ACE to file reports in one week time period.
