Fawad Chaudhry files petition in IHC to declare cases against PTI leadership illegal

ISLAMABAD: Former information minister Fawad Chaudhry has moved the Islamabad High Court to declare the blasphemy cases registered against the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leadership by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government illegal.

The cases were registered on orders of the Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan after a few pilgrims raised anti-government slogans, calling Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and Narcotics Minister Shahzain Bugti “Chor Chor“.

The filing of the blasphemy cases against the PTI leadership has been condemned by all corners of the society, calling the PML-N to reconsider its actions instead of instigating religious riots.
