KARACHI: An explosion near Paracha Chowk, Shershah left 12 dead and at least 13 injured. The blast took place in a drain, situated under a private bank’s building.
According to Station House Officer (SHO) Zafar Ali Shah, the drain had to be cleaned earlier. The authorities had given the bank a notice to evacuate the premises.
According to SHO, the drain got filled with gases which caused an explosion. He said that the blast caused damage to the building and a nearby petrol pump.
Administrator Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that medical treatment was provided to all injured. He added that an investigation was under process to determine the root cause of the blast.
