ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan has disqualified the former prime minister of Pakistan and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan in the Toushakhana reference. According to the ECP ruling, Khan has been disqualified for five years for presenting an untrue statement.
The decision was announced by the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of the ECP Sikander Sultan Raja. The reference was heard by a four-member bench, headed by the CEC. It is pertinent to mention here that Khan has accused Raja of being biased in the past.
Criminal proceedings are set to be launched against Khan for not declaring everything. The PTI leadership has called for protests, urging people to come out of their houses to fight for their rights.
