KARACHI: A new Covid variant has been detected in Karachi. The Sindh Corona Task Force has requested the citizens of the province to wear facemasks and follow Covid protocols. Earlier, six cases were reported to be those of the new coronavirus variant (XBB and XBB-1).
Dr Faisal Mehboob, a member of the Task Force, has advised the citizens to get a checkup from the doctor as soon as they feel any symptoms.
Despite the detection of XBB and XBB-1 in Karachi, the health departments are confident that the new variants won’t trouble Pakistan due to high endurance. Dr Faisal highlighted that number of cases in Karachi affected by the new variant is very low.
