Cyclone wreaks havoc in Bangladesh

Around a million people have been affected, and nine died after a cyclone caused destruction in multiple areas of Bangladesh. According to the government officials, most of the casualties were caused by falling trees.

The Ministry of Disaster Management said that residents of low-lying regions were shifted to cyclone shelters. Many cities, including Dhaka, Barisal and Khulna, recorded 13-inches (324 millimetres) of rain.

Around 33,000 Rohingya refugees were directed to stay indoors. Thousands of people were evacuated from the Indian state of West Bengal.
