Covid positivity rate down to 5.4pc in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: With the declining Covid-19 cases in the country, the test positivity rate and mortalities are also coming down. Pakistan reported less than 3,000 Covid cases for second day straight according to the National Command and Operation Centre.

The numbers shared by the Covid watchdog in the country indicate that Pakistan reported 2,597 new cases of the total 48,037 tests it conducted during the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, the number of deaths reported was reduced to 27 after it had been lurking around 50 daily for the past two weeks.

The test positivity rate currently stands at 5.4 per cent. Although Sindh reported the most number of Covid cases, Punjab reported the most number of deaths with 17. The number of critical patients in the country currently stands at 1,588.
