ISLAMABAD: On Wednesday, the Covid-19 restrictions were lifted by the government across the country. Asad Umar, Planning and Development Minister, announced the development in a press conference held here.
According to the statement by Umar, the restrictions on markets, dining, and weddings were lifted, but people who are not vaccinated yet will adhere to Covid-19 protocols. He added that the daily monitoring process would continue.
National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) tweeted the latest numbers for coronavirus in the country. Nearly 500 new patients were identified in the last 24 hours of the total 34,698 people tested.
The positivity rate stood at 1.42 per cent. Sindh reported the most cases with 258, followed by Punjab with 106 and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 89 cases. Islamabad, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Balochistan collectively reported 40 cases. Four people died during this period, and 567 are under critical care.
