Lahore: Political crisis intensifies in Punjab as Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah claimed that Governor Punjab Blighur Rehman is going to denotify the Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab and close ally of Imran Khan Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi. Rana Sanaullah said that since Pervaiz Elahi did not follow the directives of the governor by avoiding the ‘Vote of Confidence’, he no longer holds the constitutional grounds to remain CM of Punjab.
While talking to the media, Rana Sanaullah said that possibly a governor rule would be imposed in Punjab for two months. He added that Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz has not decided on the name of the new CM. Meanwhile, rangers had been deployed at the governor house amid the protest call from Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf announced at the premises of the governor house.
