According to the National Institute of Health Pakistan, the highest test positivity rate of Covid was recorded in the financial hub of the country – Karachi. The Covid watchdog said that the rate is currently hovering at 22.5 per cent in the metropolitan city.
While the number of the patients tested positive for Covid declined slightly, Karachi saw an uptick in the number of Covid cases in the city. Health experts have urged the citizens to get the booster shot in order to mitigate the threat of the potential sixth wave of Covid.
Pakistan has so far lost 30,390 people to the virus.
