Bizenjo resigns as speaker Balochistan Assembly; likely to be the next Balochistan CM

QUETTA: Speaker Balochistan Assembly Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has stepped down from his post. The resignation was submitted to the assembly secretariat on Monday.

The opposition has also forwarded his name for the post of the chief minister. According to MPA Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran, opposition leader, Bizenjo will take over as the province’s chief minister.

The opposition representative also said that he got an offer of Rs.200 million to withdraw the protest. He also claimed that he was threatened to accept the offer or bear the consequences.

“I was threatened with dire consequences after I rejected the offer,” adding that they would have to thrive to develop a new and efficient system in the province.

“The dark era has passed and we will create a new system for the development of Balochistan,” said Khetran.

MPA Saleh Sardar Bhootani, a member of BAP, claims that a few names are under discussion for the post of the CM. A unanimous decision will be made after discussing the matter with all allied parties.
