The Meteorological Department has issued the latest alert regarding Cyclone Biparjoy. According to the new report, Biparjoy cyclone is at a distance of 125 km from Katy Bandar, 255 km from Karachi and 165 km from Thatta. The Met Office further updated that Biparjoy will convert from Category 3 to Category 2.
The Met Department stated that the cyclone will keep getting weaker. After making landfall near Gujarat and Indo-Pak border, the cyclone is moving further towards Gujarat. Around 10 to 15 feet high waves are formed around the storm, and the hurricane will become a low depression area by this evening. The threat of Cyclone Biparjoy has averted from the Karachi coast, but its effects are still visible in the form of inundation on the beach.
The Met Department said there is a possibility of light and heavy rain in the city today (June 16). The water level has increased on the coast of Keti Bandar and the sea waves have started to rise.
