Bilawal Bhutto believes banning PTI is not an option

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has opposed the ban on Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf despite violent protests from the party on the arrest of their Chief, Imran Khan. While talking to the media during a press conference in Karachi, Bilawal said that tagging PTI as a proscribed outfit would be the last option.

Co-chairperson of the PPP said that their party does not celebrate the arrest of any politician. He added that the situation during the last 3-2 days marked a dark day in the history of Pakistan.

Regarding the National Accountability Bureau, Bilawal said that PPP is against NAB from the beginning. He said that PPP demanded abolishing NAB, but Imran Khan called it a settlement scheme. Bilawal claimed that PPP brought amendments to NAB rules which benefited Imran Khan.

Bilawal Bhutto further said that Imran Khan took the approval of 190 million pounds from the cabinet and gave it to Malik Riaz so that he can pay his fine in the Supreme Court. The PPP leader claimed if members of their party were involved in this crime, they would have been in jail.

He further said that Imran Khan was arrested according to the law on serious charges and PTI had decided that their action would not be political. Bilawal believed that If PTI was a political party, they would have called for a peaceful protest.
