The bail plea of the senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Azam Swati has been rejected by an Islamabad court. Swati remains in detention over the controversial tweets aimed at military.
He has been in the custody of the FIA since November 27. The bail plea has been dismissed on the pretext that Swati committed the same offence twice. He had been previously booked and arrested by the FIA under the same charges.
Swati has been vocal in his criticism of the military institutions ever since the former prime minister Imran Khan was ousted via the vote of no confidence. He has accused (Retd.) General Qamar Javed Bajwa of orchestrating the whole move.
