Assassination attempt on Imran Khan ignites countrywide protests

The attack on Imran Khan in Wazirabad has ignited protests across Pakistan. General Secretary of PTI, Asad Umar, gave a call for a nationwide protest after Friday prayers. In his tweet, Umar wrote that protests would continue till all demands of Imran Khan were accepted.

Similarly, the Chief of Pakistan Awami Muslim League, Sheikh Rashid, has also tweeted to hold a protest at Lal Haveli, where he will address the public.

PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry has also called on the citizens of Pakistan to join the protest after the Friday prayers.

The Punjab Bar Council also observed a strike in Punjab after 10:00 AM and boycotted the hearings and court proceedings. PTI chief Imran Khan narrowly escaped an assassination attempt on Thursday in Wazirabad when a local resident opened fire at his container.
