KARACHI: The much anticipated and much maligned Karachi Green Line Bus project will kick off its commercial operations here from Dec 25, announced the Planning Minister Asad Umar in a tweet on Sunday.
He said that the project will be available for public use after the trial operation, following which the prime minister will launch the project officially.
“Yesterday Karachi Green Line project was reviewed in detail. Inshallah this project will be ready for trial operation in next ten days. After that the Prime Minister Imran Khan will come to Karachi and inaugurate the project. After a trial operation of about two weeks, the commercial operation will be launched on December 25, God willing,” tweeted the minister.
The Green Line Bus project has had its share of delays and set backs. The deadline for its launch has been pushed many a times since 2017.
