American magazine ‘Rolling Stone‘ issued a list of the 200 greatest singers and musicians and has included the music wizard of Pakistan, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. It’s been over 25 years since Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan passed away, but his uplifting music and qawalis are still very popular among people of all ages.
Rolling Stone introduced Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan as “Emperor of Qawwali,” in their article featuring the greatest musician list. The popular magazine wrote that Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan touched the hearts of people across the world with his singing.
The American publication has also included India’s greatest female playback singer of all-time late Lata Mangeshkar. Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, Whitney Houston, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey and Taylor Swift also made it to the list of the world’s greatest musicians and singers.
