Amazon India executives charged over delivering marijuana

NEW DELHI: Senior executives of Amazon India got arrested for smuggling marijuana through the popular e-commerce store. A total of 20kg of marijuana was retrieved from two men, by the Central Madhya Pradesh Police. The accused were arrested under the narcotics laws.

According to the police, around 1,000kg (worth $148,000) of marijuana was sold using the famous e-commerce portal.

A statement issued by Amazon stated that the e-portal strongly condemned the act, and such activities were not supported by the company.

“The issue was notified to us and we are currently investigating it,” read the statement.
