The Islamabad High Court (IHC) initiated the proceedings against former prime minister Imran Khan in contempt of court as he passed derogatory remarks to Magistrate Zeba Chaudhry. Advocate General of Islamabad Jahangir Jadoon has also filed a separate petition to present the video clips of Khan’s statements.
It added that statements of Khan on digital and electronic media will be helpful for the case.
Jadoon sought permission to bring forward different statements of Khan on various occasions that were against institutions and the judiciary. The proceedings against Khan are headed by a three-member bench which includes Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Justice Babar Sattar, and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb.
