5th August, Kashmiris and their supporters across world observe Youm-e-Istehsal

Today, Kashmiris across the world observed the third Youm-e-Istehsal. The Bharatiya Janta Party government, led by Narendra Modi, imposed a military siege in Kashmir on August 5, 2019 by scrapping the Indian Constitution Article 370 and 35-A, which maintained the autonomous status of Kashmir.

Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif condemned the act by India to revoke the special status of Kashmir. He shared the message on Twitter that the brave people of Kashmir have always stood against the unbridled force sued by India. He added that India had failed to dent Kashmir with its oppression.

President of Pakistan, Dr Arif Alvi, also honoured the sacrifices of Kashmir and its struggle for self-determination. He added that three generations of Kashmir have sacrificed their lives against the extreme brutality of India.

Different Hurriyat leaders also shared their messages with the people of Kashmir from different jails where they are currently detained. Masarrat Aalam Butt and Shabbir Ahmed Shah from Tihar Jail and Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar from Srinagar Central jail asked Kashmiris to convey to the world that Kashmir would not accept the illegal occupation of India.

To show unity with Kashmir on Youm-e-Istehsal, a rally was organised by District Administration East and led by Minister for Labour and Manpower Saeed Ghani. One minute silence was observed at 9:00 on the clock as a sign of solidarity.

Provincial ministers Gian Chand, Adviser to Chief Minister Sindh Rasool Bakhsh Chandio, Special Assistant Sadiq Memon, Members of Sindh Assembly, DC East Raja Tariq Chandio, Administrator East Rahmatullah Sheikh and other officers participated in the rally.
