Health authorities have vaccinated 35pc of KP’s population, KP Health Secretary

PESHAWAR: According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Secretary Tahir Orakzai, 35 per cent population of the province is fully vaccinated. He added that almost 50pc of citizens had already taken a single dose of the Covid vaccine.

The health secretary was on a visit to the Khyber Medical University’s Mass Vaccination Centre. He said that health authorities, across the province, were on a high alert to tackle the new variant. He urged the people get themselves vaccinated as soon as possible. He added KP’s health department has vaccinated people through vaccination centres and door-to-door vaccination campaign.

Meanwhile, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) shared the latest stats of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours in Pakistan. The positivity ratio stood at 0.67pc as 322 people tested positive of the total 47,811 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. Four people died while 652 patients are in critical care.

Sindh reported the most number of cases with 187 people testing positive from the PPP-governed province. From Punjab, 58 people tested positive, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 33 and Islamabad with 38. Balochistan and Azad and Jammu Kashmir reported six cases collectively.
