LAHORE: A 10-year-old girl was raped at a school after which she was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition here on Thursday. According to the details that have emerged, the girl was raped in school’s washroom.
The victim is a student of class-III, and was found in the washroom of school after school hours. According to the details shared by a police official with the local media, the police was able to ascertain that the girl had tried to fend off the sexual assault by a yet-to-be identified rapis.
According to preliminary examination of the crime scene, the victim had gone to the washroom after the school hours after which the rapist walked in and locked the door. The police official has said that the police believes that the rapist is one of the male students of school.
More horrifying details emerged later when it was revealed that the victim’s class-fellows had tried complaining to the school management about her cries coming from the washroom. The school management shrugged off the complaint stating that ‘school kids do such things all the time’.
The police officials are now using the CCTV footage installed inside and outside the school to further investigate the matter. A first information report (FIR) has also been registered against unknown suspect.
