ISLAMABAD: The key suspect in the Noor Mukadam murder case, Zahir Jaffer, has been sentenced to death by the Islamabad Sessions Court here on Thursday. The verdict was announced at 1:30pm earlier today.
Additional Sessions Judge Ata Rabbani had reserved the verdict following the conclusion of the months long trial on February 22. All the suspects and the plaintiff were present in the court where the judgment was read out.
Zahir’s parents, however, Zakir Jaffer and Asmat Adamjee, have been acquitted in the murder case along with the employees of Therapy Works. Two domestic staff members also received 10-year imprisonment sentence each in the case.
Noor was found murdered and beheaded at Zahir’s residence last year. He had accused the family of Noor of framing him for her murder in order to fleece his family of money since he came from a rich background.
