Imran’s foreign conspiracy claim had no truth all along, says US State Department spokesperson Vedant Patel

The conspiracy narrative by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan seems to be weakening after he took an apparent ‘U-turn’ on the stance. During a press briefing, the US State Department spokesperson Vedant Patel was questioned about the backtracking of Imran Khan on the alleged conspiracy by the US to oust PTI’s government.

Patel answered that the US had already said that there was no truth in the allegations made by Khan. With his statement, the foreign conspiracy claims may fade away once and for all. When Khan was de-throned in April 2022 through the no-confidence motion, he kept blaming the US for conspiring with PDM to remove PTI’s government.

However, in his interview with Financial Times, Khan said that he no longer blamed the US for dispensation and wanted dignified ties with the US.

Meanwhile, the PTI leadership said that Khan’s statements were taken out of context. Patel has also made it clear that the US values its longstanding relations with Pakistan. The US spokesperson added that they would not allow any propaganda to weaken the ties between the US and Pakistan.
