Teenager charged for murder as an adult in Michigan high school shooting case

Michigan

MICHIGAN: Ethan Crumbley, the 15-year-old teenager, who shot four people dead in a high school shooting incident on Tuesday has been charged as an adult for murder, attempted murder, and terrorism among more than two dozen other charges.

The law officials had decided to not reveal his identity when he was arrested for the shooting incident yesterday. However, the assistant prosecutor Marc Keast convinced the court and asked for the transfer of Crumbley to jail from juvenile detention centre.

He said that Crumbley had brought the firearm with him to school with a premeditated plan of murdering as many students as he could. A sheriff also revealed that Crumbley’s parents were called to the school to discuss disciplinary issues involving him just hours before the bloodbath.

Although the motive still remains unclear, the lead prosecutor Karen McDonald said that Crumbley had a “mountain of digital evidence” against him. His lawyer has filed a not-guilty plea in the court.
