ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met the Pakistan Peoples Party leader Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday to discuss a possible way out amid the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s threat of dissolving the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab Assemblies.
According to the media reports, Zardari has been asked by Mr Sharif to ensure that the Pakistan Democratic Movement wins back Punjab. Zardari is renowned for coming up with solutions when all appears to be over.
He also played a crucial role in bringing all the disgruntled members of the PTI and the allies under one roof when the vote of no-confidence was tabled against the former prime minister Imran Khan earlier this year.
He is expected to travel soon to Lahore to hold meetings with the disgruntled members of the PTI in order to convince them to foil the plans of the PTI.
