On Monday, the wife of senior journalist Ayaz Amir, Samina Shah, appealed for pre-arrest bail in the Islamabad District & Sessions Court. Her son Shahnawaz Amir is facing the charges of killing his wife Sara Bibi with an iron dumbbell. He is accused of then placing her body in a bathtub. Allegedly, both Ayaz and Samina had an altercation with Sarah which resulted in her death.
According to sources, Shahnawaz was taken into custody by the Shahzad Town Police who later named his father, Ayaz Amir, in the case. The physical remand of Shahnawaz and Ayaz will expire today. Meanwhile, Samina stated that uncle and aunt of the deceased soul nominated her name.
Her application stated that at 9:12 AM, Shahnawaz informed her about the incident, and Ayaz subsequently called the police. Samina further added that she had no connection with the incident and neither she had witnessed the crime.
