According to media reports, the security forces have foiled a terrorist attack on the naval airbase in Turbat late on Monday night. The town had earlier been set ablaze with gunfire and several explosions.
Details that emerged later indicate that PNS Siddique – considered as Pakistan’s largest naval airbase – was subjected to the failed attack. There has not been any confirmation by relevant authorities as yet on the number of injured and casualties so far.
However, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has confirmed that all four terrorists were killed in the operation. One FC soldier embraced martyrdom, added the ISPR.
According to the locals of the area, the town was rocked by at least a dozen blasts and the gunfire continued till late night. The Balochistan Liberation Army has claimed the responsibility for the attack.
