On Sunday, Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti expressed a zero-tolerance policy against smuggling and announced prize money for those who will provide information on smuggling, illegal immigrants and hoarding. During a joint press conference in Islamabad with Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi, Sarfaraz Bugti expressed that all institutions & authorities will go to any extent to eradicate smuggling and hoarding from Pakistan.

He added that operation has been underway against the smuggling of dollars, sugar, urea, wheat, and other commodities. The minister further said that the government has recovered thousands of metric tons of sugar & urea. According to Bugti, 59 people got arrested for their involvement in the illegal business of Hundi-Hawala.
Regarding the recovery of six local footballers, the interior minister briefed that all resources are working to rescue footballers who were kidnapped from Dera Bugti. The minister expressed that anarchists cannot escape from the law and will not take a backseat till the rescue of the hostages.
Terrorist attack on military posts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
On September 6, four Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred in Chitral attack on the Pak-Afghan border. In reply, the Pak army killed 12 terrorists.
Regarding the escalated situation of terrorism, Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti urged Afghanistan to follow the Doha Agreement. The pact ensured that Afghan territory would not be used for terrorist activities against any country.
He appreciated the people of Chitral for helping the Pakistan Army in this and said that no one would be allowed to disturb the peace of Pakistan. In recent months, Pakistan witnessed an uptick in terror activities after the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan ended its ceasefire with the government in November 2022.
Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani called the Chitral incident “very unfortunate” and briefed that Pakistan is vigilantly looking after the recent rise in terrorism. He added that it is the responsibility of the Afghan government to stop attacks occurring in Pakistan from their soil.
