LVIV: Russian President Vladimir Putin has ruled out all possibilities of putting an end to the war until the Ukrainian forces stopped fighting. He made these remarks while having a telephonic conversation with Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Erdogan had phoned Putin to persuade him to put an end to the campaign that has seen many a people become refugees overnight. However, Putin is determined on pressing ahead with the invasion. He had hours-long talks with French President Emmanuel Macron as well on Sunday but he is yet to be convinced to stop the war.
The city of Mariupol is bombarded with Russian shelling and has nearly 400,000 people stuck without necessities like power, electricity and water. The ceasefire plan has failed twice with each side putting the burden of blame on the other.
