Rupee at an all-time low against dollar; being traded at Rs224 in interbank market

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee has further shed Rs3 in value after losing Rs5.18 earlier today.

The current political instability in the country is wreaking havocs in the interbank market where dollar has just gone over Rs220 against the Pakistani rupee. Earlier, the rupee had shown slight recovery after the inflows of Chinese loan of $2.3 billion.

However, the recovery was short-lived with rupee losing value in the subsequent days. The Forex Association of Pakistan shared that the dollar had gone up against rupee by Rs5.18 on Tuesday. The greenback had closed at Rs215.20 on Monday.

Currently, the US dollar is being traded at Rs221 in the interbank market, and Rs222-224 in the open market.
