Ross Taylor says goodbye to international cricket

Ross Taylor

Senior New Zealand batter Ross Taylor has decided to part ways from international cricket. The veteran cricketer will play his farewell Test series against Bangladesh. His last limited overs series will be against Australia and Netherlands in the summer.

Taylor made his debut in 2007 and has scored 7,584 runs at an average of 44.87 in 110 Tests. He has also scored 8,581 runs in One Day Internationals with 21 centuries. He became the first player in the world to participate in 100 international matches across all formats.

The right-handed batter said that he was fortunate to represent his country and had the privilege to play against the finest players. He added that he had a great journey but like every good thing his journey must also come to an end.

New Zealand Head Coach Gary Stead said that Taylor would be remembered as one of the greatest athletes of the country. He said that Taylor had great skill and temperament, and his experience had always served the side in the best way. He added that Ross would be definitely missed after his retirement.
