Curricular activities in educational institutes play a vital role in educating children about culture, society and history. Roots International School, Kingswood Campus Gulshan-e-Iqbal, following the same vision organised an event to celebrate Pakistan Day. The celebrations taught the children about the heritage of Pakistan and paid tribute to the country’s heroes who fought for the Independence of motherland.
Musical Plays and Performances for Pakistan Day Celebrations
The event began with performances from students of pre-primary and primary sections. The pre-schoolers performed with great confidence and beautifully carried the acts. Teachers and mentors of students guided the performers throughout the activities. Every act was aimed at honouring the heroes of Pakistan.
A special singing performance was organised where patriotic songs were sung to invoke the sense of patriotism among the participants and attendees.
A group of students then took over the stage to showcase cultural acts. Higher-grade students, in four different groups, prepared tablos on four provinces. They showcased the cultural dance and colours of Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Young kids donned the uniforms of the armed forces to pay homage to the army, airforce, and naval forces. IGCSE students also took part and delivered well-coordinated dance acts to commemorate Pakistan Day.
Urdu and English Speeches to Spark Patriotism
Students delivered some amazing speeches to highlight the importance of Resolution Day. The speeches comprised good vocabulary. But more importantly, students showcased great enunciation skills.
Every student had prepared a unique take on Pakistan Day and made sure to cover all the relevant areas of information. The hard work of teachers was evident as they helped the students to formulate the material and taught them the way of delivery.
Importance of Events on National Days
Principal of Roots International School, Kingswood Campus Gulshan-e-Iqbal, said that co-curricular activities should go hand in hand with classroom education. She highlighted that celebrating National Days was important to invoke the sense of patriotism in young kids.
“By celebrating these days the children will know about their country and its roots. These activities spark the enthusiasm in kids to make the country great. We need to introduce students to all important national days to safeguard our heritage.”
Teachers appreciated the hard work of students. Misha Asif and M. Hamza Adnan said that children prepared the acts & tablos in just two to three days on the theme of Pakistan Day. They also gave credit to parents who helped their children prepare the performances. Misha Asif added that all teachers fulfilled the responsibility of executing the event smoothly. M. Hamza Adnan further said that events like these help students gain knowledge about nationalism.
Students also enjoyed the event thoroughly. The participating students said that these kinds of events should be organised in future as they are both fun and educating. They also applauded the efforts of teachers and management for organising such an event.
