Sheikh Rashid sounds alarm for PTI ministers looking to join opposition ahead of no-confidence motion

ISLAMABAD: The Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid has warned the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf ministers that they would be surrounded politically if they decided to switch loyalties ahead of the no-confidence motion. He was speaking to the media here on Thursday.

He added that the Speaker Assembly Asad Qaiser reserved the right to disqualify anyone he found involved in horse-trading. He stated that nobody could question Qaiser if he did so under the 18th Amendment of the Constitution.

The government has already decided to refrain from voting on the day of the no-confidence motion, stating that the onus lied on the opposition to secure 172 votes to send the prime minister home. The opposition has been actively campaigning against the prime minister and has claimed to have won the support of several disgruntled ministers of the PTI government.
