Quetta administration conducts raid on presidential candidate Mahmood Khan Achakzai’s residence

QUETTA: A raid was conducted by the local administration on the residence of the presidential candidate Mahmood Khan Achakzai on the pretext of illegal occupation of a piece of land. The raid was met with strong criticism and condemnation by the leadership of the Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP).

Achakzai is set to contest the Pakistan Peoples Party leader Asif Ali Zardari for the coveted position of the presidentship on March 9, Saturday.

The party has accused the “state institutions” for the raid, calling it a response to the speech delivered by Achakzai on the floor of the National Assembly.

Meanwhile, the Quetta Deputy Commissioner Saad Asad argued that the raid had nothing to do with the speech rather the piece of land comprising 2.5 kanals which had been illegally occupied by the PkMAP chief Achakzai.
