Punjab Assembly to hold maiden session today amid PTI’s protest over ‘stolen mandate’

LAHORE: All eyes are fixated on the Punjab Assembly where the elected candidates will be taking the oath today in the assembly’s first session. On the other hand, the opposition party Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf is set to protest over what it calls ‘stolen mandate’.

PTI has decided to attend the Punjab Assembly session. Their candidates will be led by the party’s nominee for Punjab chief ministership Mian Aslam Iqbal.

PTI’s general-secretary Hammad Azhar had tweeted on X that all the defeated independent candidates-backed by the PTI will protest in front of the Punjab Assembly. He said that the party workers and supporters would also be joining them in their protest.

Azhar took the ‘PDM gang’ to cleaners, stating that it would not be able to do anything since it had usurped the mandate of the people. “The masses’ situation will improve when people will be allowed to choose their leaders,” he said.
