PTI accused of planning to raid Sindh House in Islamabad ahead of no-confidence voting

ISLAMABAD: With the political temperature rising to unprecedented levels in the capital, the ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has been accused by Pakistan Peoples Party for planning to sabotage its no-confidence voting by raiding the Sindh House here, where according to the PPP, the disgruntled MNAs of the government are in hiding.

Earlier the Punjab Speaker Assembly Chaudhry Pervez Elahi had revealed that several MNAs of the government had gone missing. Prime Minister Imran Khan, while speaking at a public rally yesterday, had also said that the opposition was trying to buy the loyalties of PTI MNAs using “heaps of money”.

Several lawmakers belonging to the PPP issued a joint statement claiming that the PTI was planning on resorting to unconstitutional means and terrorism to thwart the no-confidence voting.

When the statement was brought into the knowledge of the Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, he said that the government was not planning on doing any such thing and that the prime minister and his allies would win the no-confidence voting.
