New York: Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif will address the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), which will focus on the devastating conditions in the country due to catastrophic floods. Shehbaz Sharif will talk about how climate challenges can be tackled collectively. He will also shed light on Pakistan’s stance regarding the Kashmir issue & other global challenges. It is pertinent to mention that last year, during the 76th session of the UN, former Prime Minister Imran Khan talked about the Kashmir issue and against Islamophobia which received global acclaim.
He will also extend an appeal to the international community to support Pakistan. The Financial Times has reported that this week the Pakistan government will also share a memorandum signed with the UN stating that creditors should provide debt relief to Pakistan. The policymakers will then shift their focus to handling the disasters caused by floods.
