In a heartfelt address on the occasion of the International Day of Al-Quds and Juma tul Wida, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has passionately called upon the international community to exert pressure on Israel to halt its brutal oppression against the Palestinians.
Expressing profound dismay over the relentless atrocities in Gaza, PM Sharif condemned the ongoing violence perpetrated by the Israeli forces. He highlighted the alarming toll of human suffering, revealing that since October last year, a staggering 32,000 Palestinians, including 17,000 children, have tragically lost their lives, with 17,000 others left injured in Gaza alone.
Moreover, PM Sharif lamented the deliberate targetting of essential infrastructure such as hospitals, refugee camps, and schools, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis, while access to vital aid remains obstructed.
Despite the United Nations Security Council’s ceasefire resolution, PM Sharif pointed out the continuous, unprovoked bombing of innocent civilians in Gaza. He emphasised Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to extending moral and diplomatic support to the defenseless Palestinian population until liberation from Israeli occupation and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the pre-1967 borders.
Furthermore, PM Sharif issued a poignant appeal to Muslims worldwide, urging them, including the people of Pakistan, to stand in solidarity with their Palestinian and Kashmiri brethren on this significant occasion. He implored individuals to offer prayers for the alleviation of their hardships, invoking divine intervention for peace, security, and prosperity in both Palestine and Kashmir.
