On Monday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the slogans against the armed forces during the Asma Jahangir Conference in Lahore. He said that it was unfortunate that these forums were used for targeting the institutions.
The statement came after several people shouted slogans against the Pakistan Army on Sunday while several key ministers were present at the conference.
Mr Sharif made the comments just hours before leaving for Saudi Arabia for the Saudi Future Investment Initiative Summit. He commented that the federal government was committed to ensuring the freedom of speech of each citizen, but the use of this conference for partisan political interest was regretful.
