ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended a warm invitation to French companies to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan during a meeting with the Ambassador of France to Pakistan, Nicolas Galey. The meeting took place here on Wednesday and was marked by discussions aimed at fostering stronger economic ties between the two nations.
During the meeting, PM Sharif emphasised the importance of collaboration between Pakistan and France to boost trade and investment relations. He welcomed the forthcoming visit of corporate leaders from prominent French companies to Pakistan, viewing it as a positive step towards enhancing economic cooperation.
Highlighting the government’s priority of stabilising the economy, PM Sharif reaffirmed his commitment to creating an environment conducive to investment and economic growth.
Acknowledging the historically friendly relations between Pakistan and France, PM Sharif noted the recent efforts to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, despite facing challenges in the past.
Ambassador Galey presented a congratulatory letter from French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal to PM Sharif on his re-election, which was warmly received and appreciated.
Reflecting on past interactions with French President Emmanuel Macron, PM Sharif commended President Macron’s significant contributions, including his virtual participation in the Geneva Conference on Resilient Pakistan last year. He extended an invitation to President Macron to undertake an official visit to Pakistan, further solidifying bilateral relations.
