KARACHI: The Pakistan Super League’s draft had left the former Pakistan wicketkeeper batter Kamran Akmal bitter. He had not shied away from making his sentiments public when he criticised his demotion from Platinum to Gold for the PSL draft.
But, as things turned out on Sunday, Akmal was not only discarded even from Gold, he was only picked by his own franchise Peshawar Zalmi in the Silver category. According to people close to Akmal, he had agreed to play on Gold reluctantly but the demotion to Silver meant that Akmal wasn’t happy with how things went at the draft.
He said that he did not think that he deserved to play in Silver Category.
Last 6 seasons it was a great journey..Thank you for supporting me through thick and thin M.Akram bhai @JAfridi10 @darensammy88 @WahabViki ..I think i don’t deserve to play in this category…Thank you once again..@PeshawarZalmi Best of luck..Thank You all the fans for supporting

The tweet was picked by ESPNCricinfo, in response to which, the Namibia cricket team’s captain Gerhard Erasmus replied, ‘Pick me, I’ll play for free’.
Pick me, I’ll be there for free. 👆

Erasmus’ tweet has received an overwhelmingly positive response with the fans asking Peshawar Zalmi to pick him instead of Akmal who has thrown a hissy fit.
